Please clarify your use of the term “formal complaint.” There are two types of complaints. There are informal complaints that are handled solely by the Open Records Division’s Education and Enforcement Section. There is also the formal complaint process that is articulated in section 552.3215 of the Government Code. The formal complaint process is handled solely by an attorney in the Criminal Prosecutions Division. You say formal complaint but you also want documentation generated by the Open Records Division in response to those formal complaints. Please confirm that you are seeking formal complaint information that is handled by the Criminal Prosecutions Division. Thank you.
