Pursuant to the California Public Records Act, I hereby request the following records:
the "eviction list" compiled by your department between January 2019 and the latest available data. I'm requesting this information in a machine-readable spreadsheet such as Excel or CSV. Fields should include but not limited to the following information:
- file number
- occupants
- address
- restoration date
- status
- court case number
- Indicates type of process served or posted
- Indicates manner of service (personally served or posted and mailed)
- Indicates status of notice (cancelled, unsuccessful-no show, unsuccessful-took peaceful possession, unsuccessful-not found)
- Indicates whether the property is commercial or residential, if possibl
I would like to reiterate that I am seeking all fields containing non-exempt information about the department's eviction notices. That means fields containing the above information, and fields containing any additional information not listed, but that would still be disclosable under the law
The requested documents will be made available to the general public. I'm a senior reporter at The Guardian, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes. The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

I have no spreadsheet that encompasses all data you have requested. However, I can easily and quickly get you a report showing most of the information you have requested. I have attached (just this once via email) a small sample of what the report looks like. It includes May 2022.
I am aware you have requested all eviction information from January 2019 to present. Please let me know if the report information attached is sufficient for your needs.
We do not send any CA PRA responses electronically, nor by CD ROM. We release records in person at the front counter or by mail.
The supplemental documents from May 2022 total 39 pages of information that had to be hand pulled from files, which is very time consuming. It includes: Receipt, Notice to Vacate, Eviction Scheduling Letter, Notice of Restoration, and Writ Return. In order to obtain those for May, I will need - for postage and copies --$12.31, written to the Tehama County Sheriff and mailed to:

It will not include the Letter of Instruction, trip ticket, or copy of the court writ. The first two include protected information that is not releasable. The third is only releasable if I hold the original in my possession and I no longer do.
