To Whom It May Concern:
Pursuant to the North Carolina Public Records Law, I hereby request the following records:
- any complaints filed to the Surry County Sheriff's Office regarding a student's comments at a North Surry High School improv performance on 11/13/19, as well as any responses sent by the SCSO
For background, the Winston-Salem Journal reported that the SCSO, in response to several complaints, is investigating comments about President Donald Trump made during an impov performance at North Surry High School on the above date: https://www.journalnow.com/news/local/student-made-joke-about-trump-in-improv-sketch-now-surry/article_56213ec7-804d-5510-a3e0-93ee704dd926.amp.html
I therefore request any of those complaints, as well as SCSO responses.
