To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the Massachusetts Public Records Law, I hereby request the following records:

I am seeking a spreadsheet of the office's "case log" running from January 2019 through to present. This log, which I believe is stored in the DAMION system, should contain all cases arraigned in front of the District and Superior courts during this time period. Please also include cases that were reviewed but not charged. I am seeking the police incident number, case docket #, charge, and any other information stored in the log.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter.

I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 business days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

Nathaniel

Claudia,

Thank you for your detailed response! I especially appreciate the detailed documentation and mappings you provided! The context you provided regarding how entries are entered into the DAMION system and the limitations of that process/system is also extremely valuable.

One request: are the police incident numbers for each case stored in DAMION (or another database/log)? Would it be possible to receive a report containing the police incident number(s) that correspond to each "Nmbr Cs" present in the spreadsheet you sent previously? I am interested in joining this data with incident-level public records published by the Boston Police Department.

Thank you again for your help,
Nathan
