Hello Mr. Lieber:

The Sonoma County Human Services Department received a Public Information Act request from you today. It originally went to a Department of Health email address.

I’d appreciate talking with you by phone about your if possible to clarify the records you are looking for. Here are some of my questions:

You ask for “…public records about mandatory communicable disease reporting in Sonoma County in the past two months (September and October, 2017) including before, during, and after the major Tubbs fire.” County records about disease would be a function of the Department of Health.

Your request is addressed to the Human Services Department and specifically the Family, Youth and Children’s Division. That section of our department oversees child protection and foster care in our county.

Once it is clear which department can follow up on your request, there may be additional questions to refine the types of public records you’re requesting (e.g. data, policies or other information).

Please feel free to respond to this email or call me between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Thank you,

Hello again Mr. Lieber:

Since I have not had a response to my earlier email to you, I am writing to let you know that I’ve referred your request to the Sonoma County Department of Health, as that seems to be the correct office to respond per your original email. I directed your request to the Health Public Information Officer Scott.Alonso@sonoma-county.org<mailto:Scott.Alonso@sonoma-county.org>.

If you feel this is in error and that you are looking for information regarding Human Services programs (www.sonomacounty.ca.gov/Human-Services/<http://www.sonomacounty.ca.gov/Human-Services/>), please contact me again by phone or with an email with answers to my questions below.

Best wishes,
