First, let me apologize for the delay in responding to your request.

I believe that the group to which you are referring may be the “Municipal Property Review Committee” which was an ad hoc advisory group created by Mayor Curtatone to evaluate and make recommendations with regard to the city’s various buildings.

The City Clerk’s Office has a copy of a “Final Report of the Municipal Property Review Committee,” which was submitted by Mayor Curtatone to the Board of Aldermen on March 25, 2004. A copy of that 32-page submission can be prepared for you at a cost of $6.40.

A diligent search of the records of this Office has uncovered no other records of such a group.

I suggest that you contact the Mayor’s Office to request any other materials related to such a group.

-John

Dear John,

Thanks so much for your search, I appreciate the time this took your office.

1. I will send a check to pay for the 2004 report;
and at the same time: would like to also request a copy of the March 2007 Municipal Property Comprehensive Consolidation Plan, aka 2007 HMFH Study.

Would you please tell me how much the City wants to charge for that 2007 Report- or is that one available freely online? If not, I will await your answer on that so I can send a check to pay for both reports at the same time.

2. I have a question for City Solicitor Wright, who has been cc'd on this:

The 2004 “Final Report of the Municipal Property Review Committee,” was also very recently mentioned by Resistat (May 27, 2011 at: http://somervilleresistat.blogspot.com/2011/05/cost-to-raze-or-maintain-former.html ).

What is the reason that the City charges for a copy of this 2004 report, instead of either providing it freely online as part of the City's cache of studies and reports; or at least freely emailing it in electronic form to residents, upon request?

thanks again and best to all,
Eileen
