Pursuant to the Massachusetts Public Records Law, M.G.L. c.66, ยง10, I hereby request the following records:
The special tax districts created by the municipality, the stated purpose of the special district, its authorizing document, and its date of passage.
I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as we believe this request is in the public interest, as suggested but not stipulated by the recommendations of the Massachusetts Supervisor of Public Records. The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, processed by a representative of the news media/press and is made in the process of news gathering and not for commercial usage.
I expect the request to be filled in an accessible format, including for screen readers, which provide text-to-speech for persons unable to read print. Files that are not accessible to screen readers include, for example, .pdf image files as well as physical documents.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 business days, as the statute requires.

I have received a public records request pursuant to MGL c66, s10 regarding special tax districts in our municipality, Somerset.
In your request, you have noted that the original request was sent on March 14, however, no one in this entire building received this request via email, fax, or any other means.
I am forwarding your request to the Tax Assessors office to respond back to me or send the information you have requested directly to you.
I am also forwarding your request to the Records Access Officer, Richard Brown our Town Administrator. I apologize for the delay, this was received on April 6 in another office and I received it today, April 10. We will be sure to forward you a response not later than April 21, as Monday, April 17 is a legal holiday in Massachusetts. (10 business days from April 6)

I apologize, I assumed that the RAO and/or the Assessor's Office responded to your request. On April 10, 2017 I received an email from the RAO indicating that the Town of Somerset does not have any Special Tax Districts (see below). Again, I apologize. I had also confirmed this verbally with the Assessor's Office on the same date. Having forwarded your request to the RAO and the Assessor's Office, I assumed the holder of the information or the RAO would directly responded to you. I will note this in my file of Public Records Requests.
