RE: Sheriff Records Request of January 22, 2024, Reference # S002220-012224 Dear Requester, The Siskiyou County Sheriff's Office received a public records request from you on January 22, 2024. Your request mentioned: 911 Calls from 2015 through 2019 The Department is reviewing your Public Records Act request dated December 22, 2023, and received by the department via regular mail on January 3, 2024. The Department does not have a record of ever receiving an “original” Public Records Act request allegedly submitted to the Department on April 22, 2022. The records you have requested require the Department to search for, collect, and examine large amounts of records over a lengthy period of time. In addition, some of these records requested may be exempt from disclosure under applicable privileges and or disclosure exemptions. Some of these documents may require legal review and redaction. Accordingly, the Department will be unable to make a final determination of whether your request seeks access/copies of disclosable public records in the possession of the County within 10 days of receiving your request. The Department will provide a response to your request pursuant to Government Code section 6253(c) no later than 24 days after receiving your request. The Department anticipates that due to the size of your request, we will have a need to release any responsive records on a rolling basis. Your request mentioned: 911 Calls from 2015 through 2019 Please review the correction in bold. The Department is reviewing your Public Records Act request dated December 22, 2023, and received by the department via regular mail on January 3, 2024. The Department does not have a record of ever receiving an “original” Public Records Act request allegedly submitted to the Department on November 3, 2020. The records you have requested require the Department to search for, collect, and examine large amounts of records over a lengthy period of time. In addition, some of these records requested may be exempt from disclosure under applicable privileges and or disclosure exemptions. Some of these documents may require legal review and redaction. Accordingly, the Department will be unable to make a final determination of whether your request seeks access/copies of disclosable public records in the possession of the County within 10 days of receiving your request.
