Communications
From: Brian Waters
To Whom It May Concern:
Pursuant to the Vermont Public Records Act, am requesting emails regarding Shelburne's relationship with Propy, a California-based real estate and "blockchain" startup.
Specifically, I am requesting all emails (and attachments) sent to, from, or between Shelburne employees or officials in 2017 or 2018, containing any of the following keywords (please make sure to search both the subject field as well as the emails themselves):
Propy
propy.com
Karayaneva
Voloshyn
Cildermane
Additionally, I am requesting all email (and attachments) correspondence between Propy and Shelburne in 2017 or 2018. Specifically, I am requesting all emails containing "@propy.com" in any of the following fields:
To
From
Cc
Bcc
I realize that these queries may generate a large amount of responsive records. In that case, I would be happy to correspond directly with the city IT department to formulate a more focused query.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
Thank you,
Brian Waters

Hi Diana, thanks for the response.
I was hoping the town IT department might be able to help out with this kind of request. Please let me know if that's possible.
Thank you,
Brian Waters

Hi,
Unfortunately, the Town does not have an IT Department. While I’m a Town employee, I’m elected by the residents. So my office is run separately from the Town.
How would you like the information you requested?
Best regards,
Diana

Thanks for the clarification.
In that case, let's just restrict the scope from all Shelburne employees and officials to just the Town Clerk's office. I'd appreciate any responsive emails that you or your staff can find by searching their emails.
Let me know if that sounds reasonable,
Thanks,
Brian Waters

Hi Brian,
Yes, that is a reasonable quest. How do you normally receive email information?
Best regards,
Diana

Whatever is easiest for your staff is fine. Often respondents send PDF's, or they actually export the raw emails in text format and send those along, for example inside a .zip file.
Let me know if something like that is possible given you don't have support from IT staff.
Thanks,
Brian Waters

Hi Diana, I apologize for the miscommunication. I had responded saying "Whatever is easiest for your staff is fine. Often respondents send PDF's, or they actually export the raw emails in text format and send those along, for example inside a .zip file. Let me know if something like that is possible given you don't have support from IT staff." but perhaps it got lost.
Unfortunately, the emails regarding Propy don't seem to actually be attached to your email. Can you please check on that and send them again?
Thanks,
Brian Waters
