Ms. Ferreiro,

The PDF you provided, while helpful, makes it difficult to discern the names of calendars and any notes within them. Which is why I initially requested a copy of the them in their native format.

I'm assuming the mayor's office is using Outlook? It's likely this can be done by exporting Outlook's .pst. files.

If you have questions, please feel free to contact me via this email (hey.bernard@gmail.com) or by phone 310-210-9226.

Thank you for your continued cooperation and patience with this and other requests.

Dear Mr. Rodriguez:

Thank you for your email.

That is the format that I have always used to send out the Mayor's calendar to requesters.

I will need to do some additional research on this, and anticipate being able to provide you with a status update on or before October 7, 2016.

Sincerely,

Kimberly Ferreiro

Dear Mr. Rodriquez,

After further checking, the calendar that you received is the same Mayor's calendar that all requesters receive and it is the only Mayor's calendar.

Sincerely,

Kimberly Ferreiro

Ms. Ferreiro,

Thanks for taking the time to respond. I appreciate the time you’ve taken on this request.

I’d like to bring to your attention the “metadata” case of O’Neill vs. Shoreline, in which the Washington State Supreme Court established that state public-records law applies to “metadata,” or data about data — in this case, electronic information regarding the Mayor’s calendar.

http://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news/shoreline-public-records-case-ends-after-7-years

While, I am aware of City of Seattle’s current CPRA, I hope, and am requesting that you please review your process and reconsider releasing these documents in the spirit of the State’s law which encourages the release of documents in their native format.

Thank you, again, for the time and attention you’ve given to this request.

Respectfully,
Bernard Rodriguez
