From: Curtis Waltman

To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to RCW Ch. 42.56 (Public Records Act), I hereby request the following records:

Documents concerning contracts with the company Babel Street. I would also like any police reports and internal memos referencing Babel Street or their products, Babel X and Babel Sentry. Emails from and to Brian.Maxey@Seattle.gov should also be searched for the keywords "Babel Street," "Babel X," and "Babel Sentry." I would like the same keywords searched for the email address Kathleen.OToole@Seattle.gov. If that is not the correct email address for the Chief of Police of Seattle Kathleen O'Toole, then I would like the search to be conducted for the proper address.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

Curtis Waltman

Dear ,

Good Afternoon,
While reviewing records related to your request I saw that some communications included contact information of FBI personnel.  This contact information is not directly related to your records request.  With your permission, I can redact out that contact information.  This will keep me on schedule to deliver the first installment of records on or about 3/10/17, as initially predicted.  If you would not like me to redact this information I will have to reach out to the FBI and inform it of your records request to permit the FBI time to take action to enjoin its contact information being released.  Please let me know which steps you would prefer I take.
Thank you,
Andy Sletten

Hi Andy,

Thank you for bringing my attention to this matter! Please feel free to redact out that contact information, I can always deal with it later. I fear how long the FBI will take to decide on it, and keeping the March 10th deadline sounds good to me. Thank you so much for your diligence and work on my request, I greatly appreciate what you do.

Sincerely,
Curtis Waltman
