From: Shawn Musgrave

To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the Rhode Island Access to Public Records Act ("APRA"), I hereby request the following records:

Written procedures for access to the agency’s public records, including any records request forms required or suggested by the agency.

I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as I believe this request is in the public interest. The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, processed by a representative of the news media/press and is made in the process of news gathering and not for commercial usage.

In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 business days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

Shawn Musgrave

Sharon,

I did not respond to this request. I responded (in conjunctionwith the Chief of Police) to a similar request submitted to the Scituate PoliceDepartment from Mr. Musgrave.

As you know, the Town's Policies and Procedures (which would bethe same for the Treasurer's Office Policies and Procedures) are separate fromthose used by the Police Department (because they have specific requirementsrelated to arrest records and other information.)

The response should be relatively easy... Just send him a copyof the Policies and Procedures and the Request Form. I've attached the versionsthat I have on my server...they should be the same that Peggy uses; however, Iwould ask Peggy to just make sure.

Thanks,
Dave
