From: Virginia Fay
To Whom It May Concern:
Pursuant to the California Public Records Act (California Government Code §§ 6250), I hereby request the following records:
I'd like to request all police reports/records of incidents occurring in Uber, Lyft, or other ride-share systems.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 calendar days, as the statute requires.
Sincerely,
Virginia Fay

A letter stating the requester must agree to or prepay assessed or estimated fees in order for the agency to continue processing the request.

Hello Shirley,
Thank you so much for your reply. I appreciate the time spent searching for these records. Would you be able to provide them electronically — for instance as a link, CSV, TSV, fixed format, email, FTP, cloud, or other electronic transfer service most convenient for you?
Thank you again!
Best,
Virginia Fay

Ms. Fay
I am confused by your email. In our response to you, we wrote that you need to do two things in order to obtain information from us:
1. Identify the information required by Government Code 6254(f) you want to receive; and
2. Send payment of $6.50
As far as I know, you have done neither. There are no responsive documents. We will be creating summaries by hand. If you are asking me whether I can scan the summaries after we create them and email them to you. The answer is “yes”. But at this point the ball is in your court.
Best,
D
