From: John Lindsay-Poland

Dear Melissa Graham,

Thank you for your response to my Public Records Act request for purchase and deployment records for certain equipment used by the San Leandro Police Department. I have two questions based on your response.

First, your communication of February 3 states both that "This will be a rolling response as documents come in from the Finance Department. As information is received, it will be added and sent to your email" and that "the City has no further records, therefore your request is considered complete and now closed." Can you verify whether the City is still searching for or reviewing records?

Second, my request included three parts. The first two were for purchase records, and the third part was for deployment records, as follows:
3. Records of deployment by your agency since January 1, 2020 of projectile launch platforms, such as 40mm projectile launchers, "bean bag" or specialty impact munition ("SIM") weapons, and "riot guns" used to disperse chemical agents; explosives and pyrotechnics, such as "flashbang" grenades and explosive breaching tools; and chemical weapons such as "teargas" and "pepper balls".

Can you let me know whether the City conducted a search for such deployment records, and if so, the outcome of that search?

Thank you in advance, and feel free to contact me at 510-282-8983 if you have any clarifying questions.

Sincerely,
John Lindsay-Poland
