Pursuant to the California Public Records Act, I hereby request the following records:
Please provide
1. All text messages or Signal messages sent to or from either Sam Dodge or Mary Ellen Carroll between Feb 25, 2022 and July 18, 2022 (inclusive) including a search of personal cell phones under City of San Jose vs Superior Court (2017). Include group messages.
2. All emails sent to or from Sam Dodge or Mary Ellen Carroll (including group emails) between between Feb 25, 2022 and July 18, 2022 (inclusive) containing the search terms: "encampment" OR "tent" (without quotes)
Please EXCLUDE any emails with subjects that contain the phrase "S.F.Clean Tent Count" or "Today's Tent Count" and exclude attachments associated with those emails.
Please provide the results on a rolling basis (SFAC 67.25(d)) and in a searchable format.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 calendar days, as the statute requires.

1. The original request was meant to include messages to and from other individuals. However, to narrow the scope I will add the following limitations:
Please provide ALL text/chat message (including from personal devices) from Feb 25, 2022 and July 18, 2022 (inclusive) between Sam Dodge or Mary Ellen Carroll and: anyone at the Mayor's office, anyone at any BOS Supervisor's office, anyone at SFPD, anyone at DPW, anyone at Urban Alchemy, anyone at HSH. Include group messages.
For all other text/chat messages not sent to people listed above, please limit the scope to the following keywords: "encampment", "tent", "homeless", "unhoused", "sleeping".
2. This request is for emails sent to or from other individuals as well. In other words the request is for emails sent between Sam Dodge and anyone else, and between MEC and anyone else, with the keywords I specified.
