To Whom It May Concern:
This is a records request pursuant to the California Public Records Act and the San Francisco Sunshine Ordinance. It is not an IDR, but I would appreciate confirmation that you received this request.
I am researching the recently released video game Watch Dogs 2 by Ubisoft. The game is a very rich, open world treatment of San Francisco, which includes exquisite recreations of City Hall and other landmarks. I would very much like to learn to what extent local government was involved in the project overall or otherwise worked with Ubisoft.
I would also like to know whether the Mayor's Office has otherwise discussed this video game either internally or with other departments or other law enforcement agencies or groups. For example, maybe there was discussion of the game's impact on tourism or concerns were raised over the ability for players to attack police officers.
Accordingly, I am seeking the following records:
1) All mayor's office records regarding the video game Watch Dogs 2
2) All communications between the mayor's office and Ubisoft from Jan 1., 2010 through Feb. 3, 2017.
I am filing this request with several departments. Even if your office doesn't have responsive records, I would appreciate it greatly if you could point me in the right direction. Who else might have responsive records?
Some boilerplate; The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes. In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for processing this request. It's quite possible you may have nothing at all. But please let me know if you think another department may have records.
To Whom It May Concern:
I wanted to follow up on the following Freedom of Information request, copied below, and originally submitted on Feb. 3, 2017. Please let me know when I can expect to receive a response, or if further clarification is needed.
Thanks for your help, and let me know if further clarification is needed.
