Dear requester,

I am writing on behalf of the City Attorney's Office in response to your below request. As to requests 1, 4, and 5, unfortunately our office has no responsive records. As to requests 2 and 3, we withheld some responsive records that are exempt from disclosure under attorney-client privilege (Cal. Gov't Code § 6276.04; Cal. Evid. Code § 954).

Dear requester,

Unfortunately we cannot divulge whether or not we have received documents responsive to your requests from our clients as part of an attorney-client communication, as doing would itself violate the attorney-client privilege by disclosing the subject of any such communications. Putting aside any documents that would be privileged, we have no responsive documents. We understand you have already contacted SFPD and have received documents responsive to your request.

Please send replies to cityattorney@sfcityatty.org<mailto:cityattorney@sfcityatty.org>

This does not make sense. I have made 4 requests ,2a 2b 3a and 3b. I am entitled to know whether or not you have responsive records AND justifications for withholding for each of those 4 requests. By using the word "may" you aren't giving me a complete response.

We shall appeal.

Thanks.

Sorry, corrected:

This does not make sense. I have made 4 requests ,2a 2b 3a and 3b. I am entitled to know whether or not you have responsive records AND justifications for withholding for each of those 4 requests. By not indicating whether or not you did indeed withhold records pursuant to privilege, you aren't giving me a complete response.

We shall appeal.

Thanks.
