Hi Christine,

My request does not involve exempt records. I am not requesting any individually identifiable information about the officers involved nor am I requesting information on the status of or disposition of investigations into these incidents. I’m merely requesting basic demographic and context level information about use of force incidents, as I have requested and been provided by numerous other departments in CA including San Diego PD without complaint. These data are essentially to conducting analyses that can improve police performance. As such, please provide me with these data as legally required.

Thanks,

Sam

Hi, thanks for sending this. It looks like one of the requested columns of data (the weapon type the subject was armed with) is not included in this spreadsheet. Can you please resend with this column included? Also, if you have data on the mental illness/disability status of the subject please add that column as well.

Thanks,

Sam
