Pursuant to the California Public Records Act (California Government Code ยงยง 6250), I hereby request the following records:
Please provide all names, dates, age, cause of death, names of any officers involved, and location of incident of all persons who have died of all causes of death, ie. natural, suicide, officer involved homicide/excessive force, inmate involved homicide/excessive force. in all San Diego County Detention Facilities including but not limited to San Diego Central Jail, Las Colinas Detention Facility, George F Bailey Detention, Facility 8 Detention Facility, East Mesa Reentry Facility, Otay Detention Facility, Richard J. Donovan Correctional Facility, South Bay Detention Facility, Western Region Prison, and Vista Detention Facility. From 1970 to present.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 calendar days, as the statute requires.

I am a designated custodian of records for the San Diego County District Attorney's Office, responsible for compliance with the California Public Records Act (CPRA).
Pursuant to your Public Records Request made on April 1, 2016, this Office conducted a reasonable search for records, and has been unable to identify a record responsive to your request. This Office does not possess a record containing "all names, dates, age, cause of death, names of any officers involved, and location of incident of all persons who have died of all causes of death, ie. natural, suicide, officer involved homicide/excessive force, inmate involved homicide/excessive force. in all San Diego County Detention Facilities including but not limited to San Diego Central Jail, Las Colinas Detention Facility, George F Bailey Detention, Facility 8 Detention Facility, East Mesa Reentry Facility, Otay Detention Facility, Richard J. Donovan Correctional Facility, South Bay Detention Facility, Western Region Prison, and Vista Detention Facility. From 1970 to present." An agency is not required to create a new set of public records in order to provide a response to a CPRA request. (Fredericks v. Superior Court (2015) 233 Cal.App.4th 209, 227.)
Having been unable to identify a record responsive to your request, this office, after a reasonable inquiry, further determined that we do not have an existing electronic database which could be reconfigured to provide you with "all names, dates, age, cause of death, names of any officers involved, and location of incident of all persons who have died of all causes of death, ie. natural, suicide, officer involved homicide/excessive force, inmate involved homicide/excessive force. in all San Diego County Detention Facilities including but not limited to San Diego Central Jail, Las Colinas Detention Facility, George F Bailey Detention, Facility 8 Detention Facility, East Mesa Reentry Facility, Otay Detention Facility, Richard J. Donovan Correctional Facility, South Bay Detention Facility, Western Region Prison, and Vista Detention Facility. From 1970 to present." (See Sander v.
