Pursuant to the California Public Records Act (California Government Code ยงยง 6250), I hereby request the following records:
All records relating to the banning of Not My President: The Anthology of Dissent from being featured or used in an author series or other event, as had been planned for 2017, including (but not limited to) any complaints about the book, any criteria by which the book was evaluated, records of any discussions of the decision (before and after), the actual order forbidding the featuring/use of the book, the order reversing the same, and any written justifications for said orders.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 calendar days, as the statute requires.

RE: Not My President: The Anthology of Dissent
The San Diego County Library is in receipt of the request: Records relating to book Not My President: The Anthology of Dissent.
Prior to January 2018, the book in question was not available in hard copy. A digital copy of the "draft edit" was received by Girija, Karamcheti, Librarian, and Migell Acosta, Library Director, and reviewed prior to approval of the program. The timing of this review was a meeting in October in Fallbrook, CA.
The Readers program was eventually held in January, 2018 (see attached flyer), and the book was available at the time of the reading. Soon after the time of the reading, two hard copies were placed in circulation with the San Diego County Library (see attached catalog snapshot).
