Pursuant to the California's Sunshine Amendment (Cal. Const. Art. I, § 3(b)), I hereby request the following records:

All current policies maintained by the department regarding use of force.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 calendar days, as the statute requires.

Your request for the Use of Force policy for the San Diego Police Department has been forwarded to me. However, I would like to point out that this is the first time I am aware of this request. Your previous (and only request) was for the labor agreement between the City and the POA. You were directed to the city website link.

Under the rules of the California Public Records Act (CPRA), we will make responsive documents in our possession available for you as soon as they are identified and compiled, except for records which may be exempt from disclosure under the Act. We will notify you if responsive documents have been located. Pursuant to the requirements of Administrative Regulation 95.20, you may be charged $.25 per page for each requested copy. Electronic copies will be sent to you free of charge, if available.
