To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the California Public Records Act, I hereby request the following records:

All police and court records regarding the 2015 investigations of and arrests of Liliana Marquez, Juan Camacho, Elizabeth Bojorquez and all other individuals involved in a $100,000 crime ring that specialized in Lego theft.

The Guardian reported in a 2015 article that five men were believed to have been part of the scheme, which involved walking into a Toys R Us, loading up shopping carts with Lego items, and then leaving the stores. (https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2015/jun/11/legos-toys-r-us-crime)

Local ABC station 10News reported that three suspects – Liliana Marquez, 29, Juan Camacho, 26, and Elizabeth Bojorquez, 21, had been arrested, while a fourth was already in custody. The fifth member was on the run, police said.

I'm requesting this information as part of a magazine story I'm writing for Deseret Magazine, a Utah-based publication.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 calendar days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

Benoit Morenne
