Thank you for your request for records pursuant to the California Public Records Act, Government Code § 6250, et seq., received on November 1, 2020, in which you requested:

“To Whom It May Concern: Pursuant to the California Public Records Act, I hereby request the following records:

Transcripts of all 911 calls from 2015 through 2019 held by the San Benito County Sheriff's office.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 calendar days, as the statute requires.

This letter serves as the County’s initial response to your request and notification of the need for an extension of time to fully respond, pursuant to Government Code § 6253(c), due to the need to obtain records from a facility/establishment separate from the department responding to your request.

The County will provide an update and any potential responsive public records beginning no later than November 25, 2020. In any such case, the County reserves the right to assert any applicable exemptions or privileges in regard to the release of records. After a diligent search, County staff has determined that there are no responsive public records.

In the event the County subsequently discovers additional records in its possession that are responsive to your request, the County reserves the right to provide a supplemental response.
