All use of force incident-level data from 2008-2019 which includes date, subject race, officer race, type of force used, whether there was subject injury, and whether there was officer injury. Please provide in csv spreadsheet format.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 business days, as the statute requires.

COVID-19 NOTICE
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Governor of Texas declared a public health emergency and disaster and issued an Executive Order for people to "Stay Home" to mitigate the spread of the virus and protect the health and safety of Texans by limiting gathering and restricting work activities to those that are essential and support critical infrastructure.  City of San Antonio administrative departments are closed to in-person contact.  Many departments are on skeleton crews while remaining staff is working remotely or is present but involved directly in the public health or epidemic response.  Too Few Employees have the access necessary to respond to public information requests at this time.  Therefore in accordance with the guidance issued by the Office of the Texas Attorney General, this is not a "business day" for the purpose of Chapter 552 of the Texas Government Code, the Public Information Act, and all PIA-related processes are currently paused.

The city obtained a ruling from the Texas Attorney General’sOffice in about 2015, regarding redactions that must be made to the herequested information.  Prior requestors have agreed to have theseredactions made to subsequent information.  The city has releasedinformation from 2010 to 2017 with these redactions.  The city has notredacted or released the information for 2018 to the present.
Do you agree the city may redact information consistent withthe prior ruling of the AG’s Office?  These redactions include but are notlimited to:
* Dates of birth;
* Whether a suspect has a criminal history; Common law privacy information including mental and physical illness and injuries, suicide; drug locations and use.
Please let me know if you agree to the redactions.  Ifyou respond that you do not agree, the information that was created subsequent to the prior AG ruling will be sent tothe AG’s office for a ruling.
If you would like for the City to proceed with your public information request, please respond in writing to the City by replying to this email within sixty-one (61) days from 07/07/2020. Otherwise, the City will consider your request withdrawn. Please note, the ten (10) business days to provide a response to your request will restart upon receipt of your clarification.
