RE: Response to Public Information Request
COSA ORR No: W292964-111919

Dear Joseph Ratliff:

The City received a public information request from you on 11/19/2019. Your request mentioned Police Records Request - To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the Texas Public Information Act, I hereby request the following records:

Records, including incident reports and arrest reports, involving the use of electric scooters on sidewalks from 08/01/2019 to 11/18/19.

Would you be agreeable to receiving a spreadsheet that contains the date of incident, case number, location, description of incident and approximate time?  Also contained on the spreadsheet would be a notation as to whether or not a  citation or warning was issued.

Otherwise, if you are requesting all reports, some may not be releasable because they involve juveniles and/or other information made confidential by law.  Reports not releasable will be sent to the Attorney General's Office for a ruling.  Also, we will need to prepare a cost estimate for the time retrieving the reports and cost per page of report.  This route would be rather costly and we will require a payment in advance.  There are several hundred reports.

If you would like for the City to proceed with your public information request, please respond in writing to the City by replying to this email within sixty-one (61) days from 12/05/2019. Otherwise, the City will consider your request withdrawn. Please note, the ten (10) business days to provide a response to your request will restart upon receipt of your clarification.

Sincerely,

Open Records
