Dear Ms. Melendez,
I am in receipt of the attached public records requests pursuant to G.L. c
66 § 10 submitted via email on February 2, 2022 seeking records pertaining
to members of the Salem School Committee.
Please note that G.L. c 41 § 109A addresses those officers or employees of
cities, towns and districts who are required to furnish fidelity bonds with
a surety or sureties. School Committee members, including the Mayor, are
not included among such officers or employees. (see G.L. c 41 §§ 13, 13A,
35, 39A, 39C, 40 and 61).
Please note that the oath is administered orally to all members and as
such, we have no further documents that are responsive to your request.
If you do not consider this a satisfactory response, you may appeal to the
Supervisor of Records. See the Secretary of the Commonwealth’s Public
Records Division’s website, Appealing a denial of Access to Public Records
in Massachusetts for more information. You may also seek judicial review
by commencing a civil action in superior court under G.L. c. 66 § 10A(c).
Unless we hear otherwise, we will consider this public records request
closed.
Sincerely,
*Nancy Weiss*
