Pursuant to North Carolina Public Records Law (G.S. ยงยง 132-1 through 132-10), I hereby request the following documents:
Please provide me with any applications for a concealed weapon license or permit to purchase a handgun submitted by Edgar Maddison Welch, 28, resident of Salisbury. Please also provide me with the disposition of any such applications.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I would request your response within ten (10) business days.

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
The Rowan County Sheriff's Office is not able to provide any information regarding the request for information on a concealed weapon permit for Edgar Maddison Welch.
I will refer to NCGS 14-415.17 (c). This statute states that all information regarding a concealed permit is confidential and is not public record under G. S. 132-1.
