3. The number of use of force complaints sustained in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017, separated by year.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Hi, thanks for this response. However, my request is not for individual investigatory files or personnel files. My request is simply for aggregate statistics on the number and type of each use of force in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017 (separated by year). There is no legal distinction between providing the total number of use of force incidents and a breakdown of the types of force used in those incidents: both are legally required to be provided to me under the California Public Records Act. I've made this request to dozens of police agencies in the state and you are the only department that has claimed an exemption from providing the records. I'm prepared to pursue this through the courts, if necessary. Again, I am *not* asking for any identifying info about the officers involved, their personnel files, or anything having to do with the investigations into these use of force incidents. I am just asking for records that are legally required to be provided to me. Please reconsider and send me the requested files.

I wanted to send you another email reference your PRA request W002339-080718. The only report we have at the Riverside Police Department is the report that we sent you in August 2018 (see attached) which is the total number of use of forces by year. Any other information regarding Use of Force is kept within the personnel and/or investigation files and are exempt per California Government Code section 6254(C).
