iPad initiative (River Forest Public Schools District 90)

To Whom It May Concern:

Persuant to the Illinois Freedom of Information Act (5 ILCS 140/1 to 11), I hereby request the following records related to District 90's "iPad initiative":

-Any and all contracts, purchase orders, or other such documents for the purchase of the program's iPads, and any resultant bills or invoices. I seek documents from the beginning of the program in fall 2011, as well as documents from the programs subsequent expansions.

According to the Wednesday Journal, the iPads used by students of District 90 were "owned by the district and purchased in bulk from Apple." (online here: http://www.oakpark.com/News/Articles/11-8-2011/River-Forest-school's-iPad-initiative-a-success-so-far/)

-The results of District 90's February 2012 survey regarding the iPad initiative (the existence of this survey is published here: http://www.oakpark.com/News/Articles/4-17-2012/River-Forest-schools-may-extend-iPad-initiative-to-7th-grade/)

-Results of any previous or subsequent surveys regarding the iPad initiative. (A subsequent survey is mentioned here: http://www.district90.org/file/3488/download)

According to the 2013-14 Parent/Student Handbook, students in grades six through eight "interact with curriculum materials using one-to-one iPads for every student and classroom teacher," and students in grades K through 5 have share "iPad carts." I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as I believe this request is in the public interest. The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, processed by a representative of the news media/press and is made in the process of news gathering and not for commercial usage.

In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

-any training materials for faculty and admin related to the iPad initiative, including slide presentations, handouts, memoranda, emails, or other documents

-any procedures or guidelines for the handing of violations/malfeasance/misuse of the iPads by faculty or students, and procedures or guidelines for disciplinary action to be taken regarding any violations/malfeasance/misuse
