Mr. Shipman,
Can we limit the request just to the parties involved in the Ring agreement? I'm hoping the one or two folks chiefly involved will be willing to search for a few minutes at no cost.
Thanks!
Tom
From: Richmond Police Department
Good morning Mr. Nash,
Determining the parties who were involved in the Ring agreement will require an additional search of Departmental records which will also equate to additional costs. This does not include the costs associated with searching email accounts. I have no way in providing a cost estimate in searching for the parties involved in the Ring agreement. Please advise on how you would like for us to proceed and also note you will be charged for all of the time Departmental staff has to spend on your request, even if no records are found.
Best regards,

Good afternoon Mr. Shipman,
Let's limit this request to the signatories on the agreement. I can provide those names if you need.
Thanks
Tom

William Shipman is the person who signed the agreement.
I would encourage you to consider not charging a search fee.
Thanks!

Mr. Nash,
You may want to revisit whatever source you are referring to regarding the signee of the agreement. I am William Shipman and I can assure you that my signature is not on that agreement. As for fees, it is the City of Richmond's policy to charge for FOIA requests.
Best regards,

Yikes, sorry, I of course meant Chief William Smith.
Thanks!
Thanks!
From: Richmond Police Department
Good afternoon Mr. Nash,
Thank you for clearing that up. Just to clarify, you want all the emails from Chief William Smith to the Ring Law Enforcement Liaison/Territory Manager from January 1, 2018 to present day, and the emails from the Ring Law Enforcement Liaison/Territory Manager to Chief William Smith for the same parameter of time. Please confirm if this correct. If it is, I will provide you with an updated cost estimate.
Best regards,
William K. Shipman

Correct. Thank you.

Our IT Department advised it would take approximately one (1) hour to process your request at an estimated cost of $40.00. Additionally, it will take our office approximately one (1) hour to review the materials at an estimated cost of $34.00. The total estimated cost to process your request is $74.00.
