Mr. Shipman,
For the purposes of the residency requirement, my address is 114 S. Boulevard, Richmond.
Is there a better email for MuckRock to send requests to? This request got sent in August, and it's October now. Saying it wasn't received on your end until the follow-ups were sent doesn't make sense, since they would have been sent to the same email account. Please advise.
Thanks
Tom

Good evening Mr. Nash,
I am in receipt of your email from Friday, which was a Holiday for the City. I am also in receipt of your FOIA request, which my office received in October. I am aware that Mr. Shipman apprised you that we were working on your request and would require additional time. Our IT department did create a program to run a search for the relevant time period and the computer generated result was 718 emails. Accordingly, given the sensitive nature of the law enforcement work we do, it is required that a member of my staff, who understands the application of the statutory exceptions actually reviews each of the 718 emails to determine whether redactions are required or if exceptions need to be invoked. Apologetically, my office has been extremely busy, unusually so, with FOIA requests, subpoenas, and other legal matters pertaining to the Department. Notwithstanding, we will work to complete this request this week and we will certainly waive a portion of the costs associated with responding to your request. If you would like to speak with me directly, I may be reached at the number below. And I sincerely thank you for your patience.

Good afternoon Mr. Nash,
Due to the amount of information involved, the requested records could not be sent electronically. We mailed a CD containing the records out on December 4, 2015. It was sent to the 114 S. Boulevard address you provided us on October 13, 2015. Please confirm that this is your correct mailing address. We can arrange for you to pick up a copy of the information at police headquarters, if that is more convenient. We are located at 200 West Grace Street, Richmond, VA 23220. Let us know how you would like to proceed.

Mr. Shipman,
The disk was received, thank you. For future reference, please note that while state law permits you to verify my Virginia residency, MuckRock's mailing address is the appropriate place to send FOIA related correspondence.
Thanks
Tom
