Good afternoon Mr. Nash,

Please find attached a running log of written FOIA requests which RRHA has maintained since May of 2019. Prior to May of 2019, RRHA did not maintain a written log, list, or database of FOIA requests. To create a document which covers any period prior to May of 2019, staff would be required to manually search for and compile written records from a number of sources. Per Va. Code § 2.2-3704(D), a public body is not required to create a new record if the record does not already exist.

Please also note that the log which is provided may not be complete. As you know, FOIA requests may be written or oral and may be transmitted physically or electronically. Often, a qualifying request does not refer to FOIA itself, nor may the person responding recognize a request as one made under FOIA. It is possible that some "informal" FOIA requests which were handled on an impromptu basis are not captured in this log.
Best,

Cory J. Wolfe
