Dear Beryl Lipton:
This email is in response to your September 19, 2014 request.
You requested a copy of "procedures and policies related to the handling
of inmate grievances."
In response, for your convenience I have attached a copy of the R.I.
Dept. of Corrections policy " Inmate Grievance Procedure". For future
reference please note that all publicly available policies are
accessible through the DOC website at www.doc.ri.gov without requiring a
public records request.
Pursuant to Rhode Island General Laws 38-2-7 and 32-2-8, if you are
dissatisfied with this response you may file an appeal with the R.I.
Dept. of Attorney General, 150 South Main St., Providence, RI 02903, or
the Rhode Island Superior Court. Also, if you have any questions feel
free to contact me at the number listed below.
