Pursuant to the Rhode Island Access to Public Records Act ("APRA"), I hereby request the following records:

A spreadsheet, database or other summary of all employees who received payout upon leaving the agency in 2013, as well as what those payouts were.

I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as I believe this request is in the public interest. The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, processed by a representative of the news media/press and is made in the process of news gathering and not for commercial usage.

In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 business days, as the statute requires.

Dear Shawn:

The Department is in receipt of your APRA Request dated June 9, 2014,
concerning 2013 Employee Payouts for Department of Health Employees.
Pursuant to the Access to Pubic Records Act the Department of Health
does not have any of the documents that you are requesting. The
Documents that you are requesting may be in the possession of the RI
Department of Administration's Division of Human Resources.

Accordingly, your request for records related Department of Health
Employee payouts for 2013 is denied, in that the records you have
requested are not records within the Department of Health. If you wish
to appeal this decision please refer to your appeal right as set forth
in RIGL ยง 38-2-8.
