To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the Nevada Public Records Act, I hereby request the following records:

1. Communications that the Downtown Reno Ambassadors Partnership program has had from ambassadors with or about Eddy house, Ridge House, and the Catholic Charities of Northern Nevada, including St. Vincent's from January through September of this year.
2. Records of referrals made to people in the Downtown Reno area for non profit organizations and services.
3. Records or reports on the number of people (including transient populations) helped by ambassadors in social outreach on a monthly or weekly basis from January 2019 through September 2020.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.

From:

Hello,

My name is Mike Higdon, I am the marketing manager for the Downtown Reno Partnership. I’ve received two letters from MuckRock.com<http://MuckRock.com> requesting communications between the Downtown Reno Partnership and other entities and records about the number of people we have helped for certain dates.

I will explain why we will not be responding to this request:

1. The Downtown Reno Partnership, Eddy House, Ridge House and Catholic Charities of Northern Nevada are all 501c6 or 501c3 nonprofits. The Nevada Public Records Act does not apply to private nonprofit entities. Moreover, the communications requested are between Streetplus employees, which is a for-profit business, and those nonprofits, which also is not covered by the Nevada Public Records Act. We will not be fulfilling the request for a record of communications, especially as they may relate to private individuals.
2. The request for records of referrals as well as the request for records of people helped by the ambassadors are freely available on our website: DowntownReno.org<http://DowntownReno.org> and can be downloaded and examined by anyone. We also make records available to people who make formal requests to us for specific data points, so this is not a valid request.
3. We do not know who “Johanna” is and what company, publication or news outlet she works for. A lack of identification in the request is highly suspect. We do not understand the intention or purported use of this data, and are therefore, not interested in providing it to anonymous websites. This person is welcome to use our website, call or email us with identifying information to make a request for this data.

Thank you,

Mike Higdon
