Pursuant to the North Carolina Public Records Law, I hereby request the following records:

I am interested in obtaining records of population counts for federally listed endangered species to indicate population viability.

I am looking for population counts of federally listed endangered plants in North Carolina from January 2001 to January 2020.

I am looking for population counts of federally listed threatened plants in North Carolina from January 2001 to January 2020.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Good afternoon,
The attached records request was forwarded to me from the NC State Archives. My records indicate that we responded to this request in July 2020, with the attached PDF of responsive records from the NC Natural Heritage Program. Note that the state archives is not the repository of these records, but both the archives and the NHP are divisions of the NC Department of Natural and Cultural Resources.

The records are sorted by Element Occurrence Record Number and then Species Name. Please note the terms and conditions below, from the NCNHP's standard data sharing agreement:

The data provided by the North Carolina Natural Heritage Program (NCNHP) are intended for use only within the Client organization. Precise locational information shall not be shared or distributed outside of the organization. If individuals outside the Client organization ask for these data, they should be referred to the NCNHP. Site-specific locational information should not be provided to third parties, published, or otherwise distributed in any way without written permission by the NCNHP.

If the data provided are used in reports, papers, maps, or other publications, the NCNHP must be cited as the source, and the data date must be included in the citation. The NCNHP shall be notified if its data are used in publications. Researchers shall submit to NCNHP copies of final reports or publications resulting from research that used NCNHP data (including element occurrence records, natural areas reports, dedicated nature preserves, or registered heritage areas).
