From: Nelson, Steve

To Whom It May Concern:
Your request is extremely broad as it seeks “Absolutely any and all materials related to the provision by a non-public or non-governmental agency - such as a private company - of water and water services within the jurisdiction of this agency.” Conceivably, your request encompasses any purchases of water, including water bottles purchased from a private company for use in a small city office to water purchased from the Providence Water Supply Board for use by all residents of the City of Providence. There is furthermore no time frame associated with what you are seeking and therefore includes many years of potentially responsive records.

Therefore, the Public Records Unit is asking that you be more specific as to what documents and within what timeframe you are specifically seeking. Please also be advised, and this was included in our closure response, that some documents may be held by the Providence Water Supply Board, which is considered a separate entity for purposes of the Access to Public Records Act.

Sincerely,

Steven Nelson

Hello Mr. Nelson,

Thank you so much for your message, and I apologize for any confusion that my request may have caused. I am not interested in the purchase of water bottles or any similar internally-utilized one-off water sources; rather, I am interested in materials related to the Providence Water Supply Board and any other similar relationships that affect the provision and transfer of responsibility over water supplied to residents of this jurisdiction that are currently active or were active in the last five years. Please do let me know if there is any other clarification that I can provide, and thank you so much for your help.

Best wishes,
Beryl
