To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the Oregon Public Records Law, I hereby request the following records:

- All announcement audio messages used on Max trains and platforms (e.g. "now entering ______ station", "doors to my right", stop names, etc).
- All announcement audio messages used on TriMet buses (e.g. stop names, mask announcement, etc).

Additionally, please include:
(a) all recordings that are currently in use,
(b) all non-english translations, i.e those in Spanish,
(c) all recordings that were previously in use, and
(d) all recordings that are intended to be used in the future (e.g. for stations that have not yet opened, if those recordings have already been made).

Portland Bureau of Transportation referred me to TriMet as the custodian of these records after supplying me with the records they held for the Streetcar.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 business days.

Sincerely,

Michael Quinn

Hi Michael,

I have received your request for TriMet's MAX audio announcements and can provide the requested information. Unfortunately, the link that was forwarded to me (to upload the files) is no longer active or broken - may I send them via email to this address instead? Or is it possible for you to send another link?

Thank you,

Michael Quinn:

Please see the attached letter advising cost in response to your April 30, 2021 public records request.

Alternatively, we can offer you copies of audio files that have been compiled for past similar requests at no cost.

Finally, the link that you provided below doesn’t appear to work. However, TriMet has a secure file exchange site that we typically use for public records requests.

Let me know how you would like to proceed.

Thank you,

Apologies about that! Try replying with the responsive documents to this email address (should be requests@muckrock.com). If that doesn't work, I can give your office a call (just provide me a phone #) and troubleshoot from there. Muckrock doesn't easily let me resend file upload links, which is a bit of a pain.

Thanks!

From: Michael Quinn

Please proceed through the No Cost Alternative - additionally, let's try TriMet's file exchange site if Muckrock's doesn't seem to be working for you.

Thanks!

Michael Quinn:

Thank you for your follow up. I checked our email inbox, but it looks like the message you sent on May 5th did not make it through. Apologies for any technical mishaps that may have incurred. The files are rather voluminous so I will send you a zipped file. I tried to upload it to the Muck Rock link you sent below, but it keeps telling me that my login token has expired (even after I request a new one). I will send the zipped file to you via our TriMet filedrop instead. Please let me know if you have any difficulties receiving them.

Kind Regards,
