Pursuant to the California Public Records Act, I hereby request the following records:

Police reports and records documenting individual incidents of bears entering residences and businesses within your respective jurisdiction in the Lake Tahoe basin, for each year from 2010 through 2021. This includes both soft entry (ie, the bear entering either through an unlocked door or window) and forced entry (ie, the bear breaks a locked door or window to enter the structure).

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 calendar days, as the statute requires.

This office continues in the process of searching for, collecting, and appropriately examining records responsive to your request. Thanks so much for your help with this request! I really appreciate all the time and effort that went in to looking back through the records. And understood about the complication of going through to separate the forced vs. soft entries.
