Good afternoon.

This email responds to your July 17, 2019 request, pursuant to the California Public Records Act, regarding Pittsburg Police Department records.

The City is in the process of identifying documents which may be responsive to your request. Processing your request requires City staff to do one or more of the following:

1. Search for, collect and appropriately examine a voluminous amount of separate and distinct records that are demanded in a single request; and/or

2. Compile data, to write programming language or a computer program, or to construct a computer report to extract data.

Accordingly, the time for responding to your request is extended by an additional fourteen (14) days pursuant to California Government Code section 6253(c). We will provide a response within the next 14 days, concerning whether your request seeks non-exempt records in the City's possession that will be made available, whether any responsive records may be exempt from disclosure pursuant to the CPRA, and the extent to which the City has records which are responsive to your request.

Brian Addington, in his capacity as Chief of Police, is responsible for the above determinations concerning your records request. If you have questions about this matter, please contact me. Otherwise, I or another City representative will contact you within 14 days, as specified above.
