To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the state open records law, Ariz. Rev. Stat. Ann. Secs. 39-121 to 39-122 and 39-128, I hereby request the following records:

A single list of all civil rights and tort lawsuits brought against the Phoenix Police Department since Jan. 1, 2009 that have since been closed and are no longer pending litigation. If possible, I would also like the disposition status for those closed cases and any settlement or judgment amounts paid as a result. To clarify, I am not asking for separate records containing disposition information, I am simply asking that you include disposition information if it is possible to do so in the requested list. These records are likely maintained by the Phoenix Law Department.

I also request that all fees be waived as I am a journalist -- employed by MuckRock and the Boston Globe -- and I intend to use any pertinent information I receive as a result of this request to educate the public.

I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I would request your response within ten (10) business days.

Sincerely,

Todd Feathers

Mr. Feathers,

The City of Phoenix has received your public records request of September
23. I believe that the information you seek was included in the City's
response to your public records request of of August 14, which the City
responded to on September 2. As such, it appears to be a duplicate
request that would not require further response from the City. Please
feel free to contact me if you would like to discuss in further detail.
