To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the state open records law, Ariz. Rev. Stat. Ann. Secs. 39-121 to 39-122 and 39-128, I hereby request the following records:

1) The total number of firearms reported stolen to your department in 2015.

2) The total number of firearms reported stolen from motor vehicles to your department in 2015.

I submitted on July 21 and 22 requests for police reports related to the theft of firearms from motor vehicles and asking for the total number of automobile burglaries in 2015. If you have not already completed that request, please complete this one first if possible.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I would request your response within ten (10) business days.

Sincerely,

Ben Hallman

Hi Krystal,

Our reporting goals have shifted somewhat since making this request. We'd still like to get numbers from 2015 but we'd also like to request more years. Same goes for our other request that was seeking police reports for motor vehicle thefts in which firearms were stolen. I'll email you on that thread too explaining the same thing.

Brian Freskos is going to email you from foia@thetrace.org outlining exactly what we need. I'm going to mark this request through MuckRock as withdrawn. Please reply to Brian.
