Excerpts from four books were read aloud at a school board meeting. District counsel advised leadership to convene a book review committee and remove these books from the libraries pending review. Documentation of this committee is attached. Review committee proceedings are not complete at this time.
2. A copy of any complaints (including informal complaints), and any records generated as a result of the complaints, where the complaint led to a change in status of any book or material in a school library.
No formal complaints have been filed. Informal complaints not following district procedures can be viewed at school board meetings. Four books were removed from school libraries in order to give committee members copies of the books to read for review.
3. A copy of any current policy concerning challenges to curricular, instructional, or library materials
