Pursuant to Florida's Sunshine Law (Fla. Stat. secs. 119.01 to 119.15 (1995)), I hereby request the following records:
The number of hours in 2015 that Orlando police officers were required to undergo in-service training in each of the following five subjects (broken down by the number of hours of training required for each subject):
1. anti-bias (also known as implicit bias training)
2. communication
3. firearms
4. de-escalation
5. crisis intervention
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I would request your response within ten (10) business days.

We responded and closed the request October 17, 2016 via Next Request.
Question #1 Bias-Free: 5 hours total of bias-free training
Question #2 Communications: 18 hours total.
Question #3 Firearms: 20 hours total.
Question #4 De-escalation: 5 hrs total
Question #5 Crisis Intervention: In order to become part of the Crisis
Intervention Team, personnel must undergo 40 hours of Crisis Intervention
courses.
