This is a request pursuant to the Florida Sunshine Law on behalf of WIRED magazine.
We seek records relating to the Orlando Police Departments acquisition, evaluation, and use of facial recognition technology marketed by Amazon and its subsidiary AWS (collectively, "Amazon") under the name "Rekognition." Orlando Chief Administrative Officer Byron Brooks, and Orlando CIO Rosa Akhtarkhavari sent a memo to the Orlando mayor and commissioners on July 6 asking to continue the Amazon facial recognition pilot program.
In particular, we request any and all electronic communications, including attachments, related to this program between any representative of the Orlando Police Department and any representative of Amazon. This request is limited to records created on or after May 20, 2018.
This request is being made for newsgathering purposes, and the requested documents will be made available to the general public.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter.
I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 business days.

Thank you for contacting the City of Orlando. We have received your request, however, we receive hundreds of requests each week. We will process your request in the order it was received. Once we begin to process your request we will notify you if the request will take more than 30 minutes.
Pursuant to City Policy, if producing the requested records will require more than 30 minutes of total staff time, we will provide an estimate of the labor costs to retrieve the records before we begin the work. City policy also requires that we collect a deposit before work begins on records requests when an estimate is $100 or more.
Please note that no fees are due now and we will notify you if we estimate it will require more than 30 minutes to retrieve the documents you requested.

Thanks so much for your help with this request, I really appreciate it.
I have a question regarding an attachment that seems to be missing from the PDF with the emails. The Jun 6, 2018, email from Brian Tracy of Amazon refers to an attachment, Orlando-POC-20180213-architecture.pdf. It is also referred to in the email body as the "City/AWS POC architecture diagram."
This document does not appear to be in the PDF. Can you tell me why?
