Pursuant to the Oregon Public Records Law, I hereby request the following documents:
A log of public records requests submitted to the Department of Consumer and Business Services that lists the date of request, the requester's name, the requester's organizational affiliation, a description of the request and the date the request was filled. Ideally I would like this information for the period from 2004 to the present.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, and is made in the process of academic research and not for commercial usage.
In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Hello Mr. Peterson,
This email is to acknowledge and clarify your request for “a log of public records requests submitted to the Department of Consumer and Business Services …” from 2004 to the present.
Our department consists of several large divisions:
Building Codes Division
Division of Finance and Corporate Securities
Insurance Division
Oregon OSHA
Workers’ Compensation Board
Workers’ Compensation Division
Each division gets a large number of public records requests, but they all track their requests a little differently. There are only a couple that use a log like you describe in your request, and no one has a log as far back as 2004. So, do you want me to send you the logs we do have, knowing that it’s only a snapshot of the department? Or do you want to modify your request?

Thanks for the information (and sorry for my delay in responding).
It's good to know they will only be a snapshot of the overall department, but I don't want to modify the request. I'd still like all the logs the department does have available.

Hi Erik,
The public records logs you requested from the Department of Consumer and Business Services are available for download at the link included in this email. As I previously stated, most of our divisions do not have the type of log that you requested. The PDF is for the Division of Finance and Corporate Securities and goes back to 2011. Email addresses for the requestors are redacted per ORS 192.502 (40). The excel doc is for the Workers’ Compensation Division and only includes a few requests from last year (that division does not get very many).
