Pursuant to the Florida Sunshine Law, I hereby request the following records:
- Confirmation that Orange County is in possession of a "Mine Resistant Vehicle" from the Defense Logistics Agency. The spreadsheet here says it was shipped on Nov 8th 2016. https://www.dla.mil/DispositionServices/Offers/Reutilization/LawEnforcement/PublicInformation/
- Total annual cost associated for maintenance and operation of the vehicle since it was received in 2016.
-Date and location of each deployment of the vehicle from 2016 to present.
-Total annual cost associated for maintenance and operation of OCSO BearCat vehicle. I believe the department owns two of these vehicles.
-Date and location of each deployment of the vehicle(s) from its purchase to the present.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Please be advised that we are working on your request. We do not have a simple record (i.e.: a spreadsheet) that gives the date and location of each deployment of either vehicle for the time frame requested. You would have to receive the SWAT report to know whether or not the vehicle was deployed, this would come at a cost as each one needs to be reviewed for exempt/confidential information. We can provide a listing of SWAT call outs with date and location, if that suffices. We also have a list of public events where the bear cat was brought out if you are in need of that, also.
Please let me know how you would like to proceed on that portion of your request.

Hello,
So if I understand this correctly, you'd be able to give me a list of each time the SWAT team in general was deployed, but nothing about the vehicles themselves?
But it also sounds like if I'm willing to pay, someone can review the SWAT reports, redact the confidential information, and then provide info on each deployment? Is there an estimate on how much that would cost? Or would I need to first indicate specific reports that I'd like to see?
I'll be happy to receive the list of public events where the bear cat was deployed. Does a similar list exist for the Mine Resistant Vehicle?
Will you still be able to provide the "Total annual cost" portion of the request?

My apologies for the delayed response. Yes, you can get the call out list, free of charge, then decide what cases you would like to see and then get an estimate invoice for that. Or we can provide an estimate invoice for all of the call outs for your time frame. If you want the list first, I will get you an estimate invoice after you decide what cases. If you want an estimate invoice for all of the call outs then please let me know.
The maintenance/cost portion of the request will be filled as well.

Please note on the call out stats, we had much difficulty exporting the information to a spreadsheet, Word was our only option. I have redacted three of the columns that you did not ask for. I left in the case number for ease of asking for the corresponding SWAT reports.
