Pursuant to the Florida Sunshine Law, I hereby request the following records:
On or about December 15, 2021, Deputy General Counsel John C. Palmerini, writing on behalf of Superintendent Barbara M. Jenkins and the School Board of Orange County, asserted that the book "Gender Queer" caused "a disruption to the educational environment[.]" A copy of that statement is available here: https://twitter.com/FerrellStephana/status/1471210790954885130.
Please provide any record (including, but not limited to, emails, text messages, social media messages, memoranda, audio, or video) which supports that assertion, or on which Orange County Public Schools, Superintendent Jenkins, or Deputy General Counsel Palmerini relied in making that assertion.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
