Pursuant to the Florida Sunshine Law, I hereby request the following records:
1. A copy of any records generated or received pursuant to any policy concerning challenges to curricular, instructional, or library materials.
2. A copy of any complaints (including informal complaints), and any records generated as a result of the complaints, where the complaint led to a change in status of any book or material in a school library.
3. A copy of any current policy concerning challenges to curricular, instructional, or library materials.
4. A copy of any public records requests received concerning books, library materials, or curricular materials and any records produced in response to the request.
This request is limited to records generated on or after January 1, 2021.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 business days.

Under Florida law, e-mail addresses, and all communications, including
e-mail communications, made or received in connection with the transaction
of School Board business are public records, which must be retained as
required by law and must be disclosed upon receipt of a public records
request, except as may be excluded by federal or state laws. If you do not
want your e-mail address released in response to a public records request,
do not send electronic mail to this entity. Instead, contact this office
by phone or in writing.

FYI,
This does not include an exhaustive search of all district email. I searched the emails for "book challenge" and as you can imagine there were thousands. If you would like a copy of those emails I will gladly supply as a part of the public records request. I will not charge for the documents below, but we will need to charge for the search of the email. If you would like, I can calculate the cost of doing so with the hourly rate of the individually conducting the search. I spot checked some of the results in the search and none of them relate to what I believe you are seeking (challenge requests), but I will let you be the judge of that. The only way to know that would be to go through each email individually. If you have specific "words" you would like for me to search I can do that as well. Please advise.
