To Whom It May Concern:
Pursuant to the Ohio Open Records Law, I hereby request the following records:
Absolutely any and all materials - including, but not limited to, policies, protocols, forms, reports, spreadsheets, and any other relevant material - related to the use and implementation of the labor of individuals held at for-profit or contracted prison facilities under the jurisdiction of this state. If state law in this area applies also to local or federal facilities contracted with a for-profit prison operator, provision of these relevant materials would also be appreciated.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I would request your response within ten (10) business days.
Sincerely,
Beryl Lipton

Hello,
Confirming receipt of this request.
Thank you.
From: Trevor.Clark@odrc.state.oh.us
We have been advised by our Office of Administration that we have no records responsive to this request. Ohio does not have an Ohio Penal Industries shop at any of the private prisons operating in the state. Any job that an inmate has at a private prison would be an internal job assignment given and tracked solely by the private prison.
Sincerely,
Trevor M. Clark
